Dr. Bart Atencio

Julie Williams P.A.-C Physicians Assistant at the Women's Health Associates of Central Texas

I began with pain levels that started at 8/10 present 100% of the time.  An MRI revealed a disc herniation in my neck at C5-6.  Before treatment every day was a challenge especially the work week.  Since I write in charts 10 hours a day, 4 days a week by Thursday my pain levels were severe.  I had previously tried physical therapy and injections with little relief.  I began Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression to treat the disc combined with Active Release Technique to treat the muscle and fascia pain, and strengthening on the Spine Force.  After completing my therapy I now experience pain at a level of 1/10 present less than 5% of the time.  I'm even restarting training at the gym with a trainer.  I'm doing things I never thought that I'd be able to do again without pain.  I recommend Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression and treatment with Dr. Atencio to many of my patient's without reservation.

After a microdisectomy (spinal surgical procedure) the patient experienced chronic pain levels of about 4/10.  The patient sought out treatment when he experienced an episode of acute more intense lower back pain with a return of leg pain.  An MRI was ordered that revealed a recurrent herniation at the previous surgical level.  Recurrent disc herniations are somewhat common following a microdisectomy.

The patient was treated with Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression, Rehabilitation and Myofascial Release (using Active Release Technique).   The treatment took the standard 20 sessions.  At this time the patient's pain has decreased to a 1-2/10 and he has resumed full activity.
